Hello
When i copy big files across partitions in my drive, my computer becomes real sluggish.

is this because of the RAM?

A low amount of RAM should not be causing this. Check if your DMA is enabled for your hard disk. My computer > properties > hardware stuff > ide controller stuff....

Slow hard drive? We need specs please! Either it's fragmented, or a slow hard drive. Don't use Windows Defragmneter, it don't work, use Diskeeper.

can't see the IDE controller

i got 512 MB RAM, would that slow my machine down?

i have got this 80 Gig drive, divided into logical partitions, and have been constantly copying and moving data, so fragmentation sounds right.

so i should not use windows defragmenter but diskeeper
where do i get diskeeper from?
