I leave my computer on all the time and just shut the monitor off. When I turned on my monitor yesterday, there was just a blank screen full of colorful vertical lines. I rebooted. Nothing. The fan comes on but the light just turns yellow, then off. The machine will not boot up. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong?

reseat the video card and the memory. Blow out all dust in the machine.

Its not a problem with the entire computer. I would first off check the video card. Take it out, clean out any dust, then reseat it. If you still have the problem, try a different video card. You could also test your video card in a different pc, to see if its the video card or the motherboard. If the problem still persists, run memtest86.
