Default comp freezes when i use new ram

k my specs are here :












and i bought a new ram from NEWEGG.COM

when i put the new ram into the computer and try to turn it on it freezes at the first screen where it says HP PAVILION(the blue one) and it freezes there ... and when i pull it out and restart comp it works again.. i dunno why!!!

You might as well just use the pc 133 mem and dump the 125. If you go on Ebay, you an buy pc 133 memory for dirt! I picked up 7 256 mb sticks for $15. Go there and improve you memory that way and forget about making the pc 133 backward compliant with the 64mb chip. you are just slowing your older puter down using both the sticks anyway.

no man, those 2 chips on the computer are the old ones, i wanted to take out the 64 and put in the new 256, but my computer wont start when i put the new chip in!
