Combining Two CPUs
I got hold of a CPU of similar specs (2.8 PIV,1GB ram) as that of my present computer. I was wondering if I would set them together to get a dual processor computer. Can anyone provide me with pointers or HOWTOs for doing it.

Pentium IVs do not support dual processor configuration.

You can only do dual processors with xeons, or buy a dual core.

well first off, you cant just add another cpu, you need a motherboard that will support another cpu. Also you need an OS that supports multiple cpus, and xp home does not. You need either XP Pro, or 2k. Or if you like linux, you can get a SMP distro.

Also 2 P4's will not work in any multi processor config.

Thanks a lot guys for clearing that up...
While we are at it, can someone suggest the best possible use of the extra CPU?

Ebay, or TF's buy/sell/trade part of the forums.

Since it sounds like you mean entire computer...
* Linux Box
* Emulation Machine (remember, needs to be legal)
* Media server
* Folding machine. TF's folding team needs all the help it can get :D
