Hi, Another newbie question, On display settings is 24 bit color sharper than 256 colors? TomW

Just a bit.

To display 256 colours you need 8 bits to describe 0-255 different colours.

24 Bits (and I'm not doing the 2's complement whatsit maffs) can describe quite an awfull lot of colours, maybe as many as a Shell Gloss range
