Hello Folks,
I need to buy as large an EIDE harddrive that my system will take with enough speed for DV capture and editing.

ON WD website I have so many choices and I am not sure what they all mean. Do I want a kit or the drive only?

Could someone visit http://www.wdc.com/en/products/ and tell me what I want for my 1700Mhz 1Gig Ram machine using an older P4 on XP pro. I would like something massive like 200gig or thereabouts

do you have all the wires and stuff like that? that is what they mean. doesnt really matter with you system, just pick the size that you want.

If it's an older mobo ..then there could be possibilities that it would not accept harddrives bigger than 200GB ..

Before you buy a harddrive recheck the max size that your mobo would accept ..
Once your done with that ... pick any 7200rpm drive from the page ..

N' on a closing note .. if u intend to keep moving the drive from machine to machine ..or wanna carry it around etc.. then u might want to consider a Seagate instead.
WD's tend to a little sensitive to shock etc..
