WHAT PART OF THE RULES DO YOU AS MEMBERS FIND DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND??!!

I dont know if you (whoever "you" may be and you prolly already know who you are) haven't read them but but we have rules around here.....and its not just because someone here has a set of morals or whatever......

The 2 main rules that I see violated are get-arounds on copyright protection (including how to obtain software/keys/passwords) and this stupid childish "flaming". I personally as a Mod am tired of it. I come here to enjoy and learn about computers and such, not to babysit and coddle peoples whims......

I have to questions:

1st....What part of the rules is too vague to understand whats not allowed? Let us know so that we may spell it out in a way that is understood.

2nd....Is it really worth it to be so blatant and publicly flame someone or provide obviously illegal information? I rather see that as snubbing ones nose at us as moderators and to those members that do abide by rge simple rules

All I can say is don't let me catch anyone blatantly breaking these rules here.....I hate to get this way but nothing else seems to get the attention.....IF YOU BREAK THE RULES ITS GROUNDS FOR BANNING.....pretty simple......

maybe it should be a requirement then.....watch out everyone, we're gonna have a test on the rules.......

maybe we should make a script, that when people join the forum and they go to activate, it shows the rules, and gives a countdown before they can go forth.

yea, and the same when we (members) next log on.

Yes,I agree the rules should be read in the first place then followed.I just do not respond to the posts that ask illegal questions like what you said Jaksbak,if they forgot there password then they should be able to figure it out on there own.The use of password cracks, program cracks, keygen's and so on and so forth is illegal. If the person choses to use them then they need to figure them out on there own, they will get no help from me.

[Edit] No worries Jaksback, it is ok to vent every now and then.Unfortunately being a mod is like being a supervisor, somtimes your skills are used effectively, and sometimes you fell like all you do is babysit the immature and childish people who are incapable of acting responsible or making any decisions on there own. These are the people who are in desperate need of guidance.[/Edit]

It's a forum, not reality. With that mindset, people think they can say anythign about anything online and nothign will ever happen to them. Most likely nothing will, but what about those times when something does happen? Like, the man comes down on you. When, and if, something happens to someone for breaking the rules, it is going to be bad.

I have tried to tell people, without saying too much, that anyone can read anything that they post. I'm not going to blatently blow up their spot and say "Dont talk about pirating software, it's illegal" because that is saying flat out that they are doing that. Instead I will tell them that this is a public forum. But all too often I get sarcastic answers like "Suuure" and "Whatever".

The rules arent made for amusement, or to tell epople what to do. Like any rule, they are for our own good. They are to keep flaming down, so people can actually learn something and not have to read several pages on someone's fighting. (even though it is often times funny)

They are there so that someone dosent say something that will implicate themselves. This is a free, public forum. It is here for our help, for everyone's help, no reason beyond that. Why spammers want to come here, people want to join just to make sarcastic remarks, is beyond me. It is human nature I guess. But people should respect those of us who are here to make a difference, and to learn and teach. People violating the rules so blatently are ruining it for the rest of us. Like everything, you can only give so much freedom to people before theuy start abusing it. It all boils down to ignorance, I guess.

Just like we all learned in elementary school:

"If you have nothing nice to say, than dont say anything"

very nicely said......my main thing id i get tired of the whining (YES PEOPLE I AM OUT OF CHEESE FOR YOUR WINE) and sec ond, Microsoft i believe contacted the admin sometime back in the beginning that said hey, stop allowing methods of cracking or whatever, its illegal and actions can and will be taken to stop that....we dont want to lose our forum....people needing such resources can simply put forth a little effort and search elsewhere cuz goodness knows the means to accomplish illegal things is all out there on the net.....just nnot here and i would like to keep it that way.
