Still no reply from family in America, they must be busy scoffing down chocolate eggs .

Anyhow, how does this APPLE "iBOOK 300MHz G3" look for 300 dollars? Or is something from retro box for about the same price better? Retro box have some interesting ones for about the same cost, usually about 700hz 250mb, but most do not have cds, and I do not really know about some of the things that may be missing from them, I have never really used a laptop before now that I think about it. The more I look into laptops the more confused I get, and the less cheap they tend to be. The best I can figure is buying from America. I am leaning more towards iBook, it seems more arty or summat, but really I would go for price and performance. I'm sorry to bother people, but $350 is money I cannot really waste, I should really get a better job .

I've been posting on a traders forum, and have posted a wanted thread, and come up with this. Im not too tech value savvy, but £250 is 478 US dollars, and the airport cards have been going for about £50 to £70 like he says.

I have a 12" G3 ibook 500mhz, 15gig h/drive and 384meg ram.

The battery is superb and lasts around 4 hours, and I have just bought a new power supply and keyboard (buttons were starting to feel old, if that makes sense) at a cost of £80.

The unit has a few light marks on it but nothing major, the screen has no dead pixels and is superb, but, and this is a big but, the network card does not seem to work. The modem is fine but not the network card. I did actually send it in to John Lewis for them to repair this and a noisy fan, they repalced the fan and hard drive but have not repaired the network card and it is now out of warranty.

I would be willing to include an airport card so you have network connection as this is what I have been using, so a cheap £20 wireless access point or modem would get you hooked up if you need it. The original airport cards have been fetching between £60 and £80 on ebay recently so they must be quite hard to get now or something, but I would include one of these.

It is running OSX and will do everything you need with ease.

I wasn't going to sell this but I could be tempted to buy a newer ibook, would be looking for £250. If this is of any interest I can take some pics and email you them before you decide.
