Cheap but good LCD?

I'm looking to get a LCD monitor but they seem very pricey. Does anyone know any Cheap (around $250US) but also good 15 inch lcd monitors?

I'm looking for a brand new.
I have no ideas on which brands are good for lcds, so can anyone give some suggestions? Sony is probably good though.

Bought a 17in KDS, quality was kinda crappy IMO at 800x600 and 1024x768 it got better but would never be a replacement for my 19in trinitron.

I really like my NEC 17". The picture quality is great, and there's no ghosting since it has a 16ms response time. But it wasn't exactly cheap. Unfortunately, that's the problem with getting cheap LCDs - they generally aren't very good.

As for brand reccommendations, Viewsonic LCDs are generally pretty good for the low end of the market, while brands like Samsung and NEC make higher end stuff.

well CRT's are still pretty decent, you can get 19" or even 21" Trinitrons at swap meets and stuff for a good price
