Hey guys

I have a cdrom that, even with only the molex power connected, continously opens and closes. Worked fine yesterday, today its spazzin out. Ive also tried other power connectors with the same results. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the motor has shorted out.

Did you leave it plugged up during a lighting storm or something like that? That's all I can think it could be...

The computer is behind a UPS and rarely gets turned on (maybe once ever other week) Only reason i had turned it on yesterday was to setup a router next to it.
