CD RW not detected?

Whenever I try to burn a cd in media player it says that no cd burner is detected? How can I get my drive working correctly again??

Does Windows see the CD-RW? Can you use other software to burn cd's? Or is it just Media Player?

I sometimes use Nero... i dont know if its free or not but it was on my pc when my cousin built it.... google nero... what version of MS media you got??

check settings in mp, make it your default if u have more then one burnng software installed..

This has happened to me too. I think that after long periods of use, drives simply get worn out. On my old one, i would often have to restart my comp several times just to be able to read a CD, let alone burn one
