Put together friends comp, everything works fine except when we try to install the os. The 1st dvd rom we tried, a samsung, wouldnt even get recognized by the BIOS, only the HD was recognized. Then when trying to boot off it, it says "Failed Media" something, then "hit enter to boot" and when you hit enter says repeats failed media thing and so on. So we tried his burner, that wasnt recognized by the bios also. We tried every jumper setting on both, analog cords in sound card, on mobo and even tested the IDE cable on the HD. With the samsung it came with drivers but we cant load them cause the C: needs to be active for that obviously. So we tried an older cd rom. Bios recognized it correctly but when tried booting to it said same failed media thing. Any ideas :\?

So you adjusted the jumpers to have the CDROM as slave and put it on the secondary part of the IDE cable? Did you go into the bios and put auto select devices?
