CD-Rom Fatal Exception

OS Win 98

Fatal Exception 0E @ 0028:C1817D60 IN VXD APIX (03) + 00000E20.

I'm very worked up about this because sometimes I get this error, not always. And sometimes CDs will play but most times they won't.

I greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Get rid of win 98 for one.
