Hello,

Hope anyone can help me so I can use my burnt CD's, but every time I plug in a burnt CD (music or data) the system will hang. Lights will flash on the CD-Rom, but after a bit it will stop flashing and stay on. That is when I will have to close the window explorer because it is Not Responding. I recently upgraded my MB and chip. I had this same CD-Rom prior and it worked beforehand.

Please help!

edit: it's not the CD's either. I've tested them and they work an other computers.

Hmm.. this justs gives me an error on startup now. The problem also still exists. I also have Windows XP and everything is fully updated.

some CDROm drives cannot read burned CD's, because the reflective layer is not as good as non-burned CD's. CDROM drives made before CD burners do not take this into account, and often do not read them because their laser is not designed for it
