Default cd/dvd drives

I have 2 cd/dvd drives. If i put a cd/dvd in any of them and go to my computer and click the drive... it wont open and i would get an end program error. Any way to fix this?

Do you have more information about the error?

My computer just comes as "Not Responding" and then an End Program sign comes up to end now. I figured out what was happening. It was going slow. But according to my computer, it sh ouldn't go slow. Any way to make it faster?

What do you mean by "going slow"?

Does the computer lock up when using both drives only? If you remove one of the drives and just stay with one cd/dvd does performance improve?

It keeps on loading after i double click to open the cd, and it opens after about 3-4 minutes.
