CD-burner question

I came home for spring break yesterday, and my computer (Dell Dimension 4500) burner which hasn't been used in over three months has stopped working. I've tried numerous blank and regular CD's, yet it still does not read anything. anytime i put a cd in, the led light flashes for a few seconds and then stops. When i try to run the drive it says "the request could not be performed becuase of an I/O device error" When i check the device manager under DVD/CD-ROM drives, no errors show. these are the drives that i have

Samsung CD-R/RW SW-240B


Hopefully thats enough info to diagnos this, any help is apprecitated.

just call dell support and they should replace or fix it, if u still have the warrenty on it.

or got to www.dell.com and download the driver updates for it. all you have to do is go under customer support and downloads put ur service tag in and you'll find the updated drivers for it.
