Default Capture LPT1input to file ?

Hi everyone !

Kind of old-school question here ;-)

I have a device (hardness tester in a pharma lab) that send measurments reports to a printer through a parellel cable.

The printer broke down recently. Now instead of buying a new one, I'd like to capture the output of this device directly to a file.

So I imagined the following:
- connecting the device to a computer through a parallel cable
- capturing the input (only the text normally sent to the printer, if possible)

I found a few softwares that can log the LPT printer port activity, but all of them are capturing data from computer to printer. I need the opposite: capturing "printable" data from a device to my computer.

I found the exact same question in a very old thread here: Rage3D Discussion Area , but the answers are not helping me.

So, does anyone know a software that can capture LPT INPUT signals of a computer and log them into a file in order to have a readable content ?

Thanks !
