sounds like a good idea, only problem is, how do i use fdisk?

I think you are not booting from the right drive. After copying the install files, before the initial reboot, make sure your BIOS is set to boot from the hard diskand not from the CD

I don't think you will need FDISK, but u can download a windows98 boot floppy from www.bootdisk.com and start your computer with it. Then type "FDISK".
