wen i boot my computer using the xp cd it tells me to press any key to reboot instead of press any key to boot from cd. wen i press any key the computer just reboots and tells me to press any key to reboot. this goes on and on.

Make sure that you have Windows CD 1 in the drive.

Do you have a floppy drive? If you do, then start the computer with a windows startup disk in the floppy drive. What I do is I start up till I get to the DOS prompt, then go to FDISK, delete the partition, and build (a) new partition(s). I am not sure if this is bad for the HDD or not, I only do it with older drives that I could care less if they fail on me...
