I have a very odd problem that I can't figure out. I just put together the system you see in my sig, and it works great for the most part. However, when I play video files (.mpg, .wav, etc.), the videos appear poorly. It looks like on a camera when the flash is too bright and the objects appear nearly totally white. I can't make out detail, and the colors on objects in the background are totally messed up. I've re-installed Winamp, the motherboard drivers, and the videocard drivers. Also, the files appear the same in both Winamp and Windows Media Player, so the problem isn't player-dependent. Can anyone help me out?

Monitor, or graphics card, maybe.

With them appearing washed-out in both programs seems to say that it is in your display somehow.

Have you checked your video settings? Have you tried an older driver to see if it works?

Maybe it's those nVidia color correction settings or whatever they're called.

Try setting them to default. start -> control panel -> display -> settings tab -> advanced -> GeForce 6800 GT tab -> color correction -> Restore Defaults.
