Default Cannot access data partition after format

Windows XP SP1
AMD 2000XP
256 DDR

The HD on my computer is partitioned.
I recently formatted the partition with windows and reinstalled it.
Now I cannot access the other partition.

Error message:

E:/ is not accesible.
Ths file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

Any Ideas?

well if u dont need the files on the partition just format it. But if you do need the files i would suggest running a chkdisk, i think to run a chkdks you go

My computer> go to the properties of e: > tools> error checking >tick both the boxes> start

(for memory it dose not do it in windows it requires you to restart and when it restarts windows will automatically go into chkdisk.
