Im not really understanding what this means when it comes to harddrives. Cuz i have been looking at some 15k rpm hard drives and they are scsi? i understand raid, however im confused does the motherboard have to say scsi compatible or something?

thanks
kevin

OK SCSI are ofcourse very high speed hard drives as well as expensive first of all they get to15k RPM as you noticed but they require a SCSI PCI card as well which is expensive it is like RAID, ATA, SATA it is a connection for very fast hard drives.

okay well what would i need to make it work? I am looking at the ASUS K8V SE Deluxe Motherboard so what would i need to hook the scsi harddrive to it?

Yep all you need is a free PCI slot you connect a SCSI contoller to it but keep in mind they are kind of expensive atleast the fast once
