Question Can Someone Help Me?

Can someone explain the concept of Master and Slave Hard Drives

eg. how they work, how to manage them etc

Thanks. I have some other questions.

Would you recomend i change jumper options myself, take note i have very little knowledge of computers.

If i buy a new hard drive would the dude at the shop usually set the new one as master?

Can i access the old hard drive easily through "My Computer"?

it just means that on boot it searches on the primary HDD first
