can my pc support 5.1 sound?

okay, i looked at my manual and it listed what the six audio parts were for.

one:surrback
two:cen/lfe
three:surround
four:line in
five:line out
six:mic in

can my pc support those 5.1 headpohones that i just ordered or not? i cant fit a sound card into my pc tho either

Correct me if im wrong someone but your not gunna get 5.1 sound from on board sound! unless your pc is really new but then you say "cant" fit a new card in so im assuming its old

no, i just have sli and my cards are blocking my pci slots. its a microatx evga nf44 sli board

You need either a soundcard that supports 5.1 or new motherboards with 5.1 onboard sound.

my motherboard model is a evga nforce 4 matx sli mobo, model 131-k8-nf44 ax. does that support it? in the manual it says it supports 8 channel audio
