Default Can excessive amps from the adapter cause harm?

Can I use a 9V800mA adapter for a 9V600mA KVM? Will it work? Will it cause harm? Thanks

Heat might be the factor here,, it will work,, but the temp will be hotter with the higher mA,,,

would I do it,, ??,, depends on how much money I invested in the unit to be powered,, and how much a replacement adaptor is with the Proper specs,,

cheers,,
