If I am looking to copy a dvd should I rip it first then burn it onto a DVD-R?

Ripping=copying is the only way to make a copy of a DVD if you have only 1 DVD ROM. Nero can take an image of a DVD and then can be used to burn it to a DVD-R. There are lot's of DVD copying tools , that take backup of a DVD in one click. This site might be of some intrest www.dvd.box.sk

Go with MrBob's idea and use dvd decrypter,and after it has ripped it to the hard drive you can go ahead and use Nero recode to burn it to disk,or you can use dvd shrink and it will do everything for you.
