I usually like to burn my DVDs at the lowest possible speed to make sure the data is accurate. The max that my burner supports is 4x and i used to use roxio, and 4x was the only speed that it would allow me to burn at. Then i switched over to DiscJuggler and it let me select 2.4x or 4x. Ive made the transition to ImgBurn. Now i can select any write speed down to 1x. I've done one DVD at 1x and it verified ok (i didn't actually test the data). I notice that ImgBurn says that the supported write speeds for my media (CompUSA 4x DVD+R) are 4x and 2.4x.
Should I still burn at 1x even though it isnt really supported? Ive also read that burning at very low speeds is not good for single layer media.
