building a new computer

I am thinking about building a new computer cuz i have a lot of spare time right now. What do people suggest i get, MOBO, HDD, Type of RAM and how much, Processor? I basically have no idea what to buy so every little part would be helpful. Also if you could give some links to some cheaper sites to find them on that would be great. Thanks.

i was thinkin around $2,500 and i want this for hardcore gaming. Like seriously top of he line gaming.

CPU: AMD Athlon FX-53 (939 pin version)
VGA = nVidia 6800 Ultra / GT any
Memory: But any of Corsair / Kingston Hyper-X

what does the FX-53 Operate at?

FX-53 is at 2.4 GHz (but dont think that higher clock speeds are always the reason for higher speed of CPU), this CPU has beaten every processor in market on PC platform, even those new Intel's which Havent arrived in market yet.

AMD is perfectly matched with nVidia in gaming, and as well this is time for nVidia (ATi's share price is surely gonna fall)
