i'm building a computer and i am looking for a motherboard and processor. i see an ad for a mother board that supports athlon xp processors and that is the type of processor I want. but it does not say how fast a processor it can support. here is the specs on the board.

Is there anyway to tell form that how fast a processor it can support? can it only support processors with 333mhz fronts isde bus and lower?? thanks
 
Only 333mhz FSB!!!

Likely a 2 Ghz max, I wouldn't put too much more of a bottleneck on that board. eeek.

Wait for the BTX mobos' coming soon. The PCI -X will have a 16X Bus with a max stream of about 8 gigs.

These Motherboards will bring the PC up to par with PowerMac G5 Systems.

That is all the XP's come in.

I dont think AMD ATHLON XP support PCI-X.
 
im sellin my motherboard that supports XPs... Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2... i have an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ in it right now.. this motherboard is perfect for XP CPUs

actually it's PCI-E
PCI-X is a 64-bit expansion slot they use in Macintosh G5's
it is said that they should be able to reach at maximum 80 gigabytes (or gigabits, I'm not sure) per second; the 1x slots will run at 1.5GB/s and the graphics cards will run in a 16x slot

you can get a socket A Gigabyte 7VY600-L for $55
and an AMD Athlon XP 2800+ for $135
