bootable cd rom

anyway of knowing if my computer's cd rom or dvd rom is bootable or not?
it's a philips cdrw/dvd cdd5263 if that helps.

erm all you gotta do is choose the "boot from CD-rom" option.

actually i was wondering cuz some cd roms can't read boot cds. so if you but a windows cd into the drive even if u choose boot from cd rom, the computer won't recognize it.

Stick an XP disc in and restart. If it loads, then it's bootable...if not, then it's not bootable.

That's not necessarily true. Hold the delete key while booting your machine to get into the bios and make sure that the cd rom is set as the first boot device. Then try to boot from the cd.
