Default Bizarre keyboard problem

For some reason on my Dell laptop whenever I'm typing equals si=gns will just randoml=y ap=pe=ar ==on the s=c=r==e=en= without me pressing the key. It's gotten to a point where I can't even= ty=pe papers on my own computer or talk to my friends o=n= AIM. =A=nother thing, if I try pressing down th==e ==equals key==== =it doesnt even work but somehow they appear on the screen for no apparent reason. I have no idea what is causing this or how to fix it since I have not spilt anything on my keyboard or dropped it. Can someone please help me in solving this problem. Thanks alot.
