BIOS won't detect HDD

The BIOS on my computer won't detect my WD 7200 rpm 20gb hard drive. The problem began after I switched out my faulting network card. I restarted after completing this operation and the computer decided not to boot up. I finally got it to boot, but the BIOS won't detect the hard drive...could someone please provide some insight to this problem...thanks

also, if the hard drive is either not making any noise, or making abnormal noise it could be faulty

faulty after changing a nic card? hrm... like pigs flying, sounds to me, unless he left the power cord in the PSU lol, with that in mind, you never know do ya...
