Actually, it wasn't your BIOS problem at all. You have all centered onto his Motherboard BIOS as a source of the "problem". We have just purchased a Asus P4P800-E Deluxe Motherboard that has identical Promise Fastrack Controller with the same message being displayed. That Controller can be easily disabled by accessing your BIOS > "Advanced menu" > "Onboard Devices Configuration", and setting "OnBoard Promise Controller" option to disabled. By reseting your BIOS you probably just defaulted that option. In addition, after you install the appropriate driver for that Controller (Drivers CD that came with your Motherboard) that message will stop showing up. That is, if you require that controller after all.

Yeah but when we tried disabling the controller, the BIOS kept changing all settings back to default for some reason

It happened to us too. Just bypass those messages once by pressing F1 or simply restart your comp by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL. Message won't appear next time. It has a habit of springing up from time to time; just bypass.

Cheers for the help guys
That's exactly what I was going to say...
