#2.AMD is better for gaming, Intel most of the time is used.. if you program or just dont do that much gaming. i would go with AMD though.

ditto. found this just for a future reference, hope it helps a little...AMD vs. P4

pci-e is "new" right now. but doesn't really outperform any great AGP card that's in the market now.

maybe next year when it becomes more mainstream, but AGP cards are here and now.

2 thumbs up for AMD64's better cooling capibilities than P4's also!

What type of difference does PCI Express make?

none as of yet. you are comparing a 6600GT with a 6600GT, they are the same card even though they are ported for different ports, AGP and PCI-E.

go with AMD, you would see the best performence with that setup.

pci-e just doubles bandwidth and makes the connection multi-directional, as of yet the additional bandwidth and all the features of pci-e are unnecessary... top of the line cards of today don't even max out AGP 8x, so don't worry about this yet, id say it could be 2-3 years before we need the bandwidth from pci-e... and as for the processor AMD kills in gaming, and the p4 wins in multi-threaded apps, but in most daily use they are equivelants.

Edokoi, so your trying to say P4 Play games better then AMD? lol.

ah, no SiZco.

i was agreeing w/ you (and everyone else) about AMD's gaming performance over P4's.

and how you were right about Intel's better performance w/ the use of basic windows tasks than gaming.

hence, that's what the article implied.

did YOU read it? here it is again in case you missed it...AMD vs. P4

or maybe this is easier to "grasp"...graphs are our friends. DirectX9 benchmarks

lol? um, ok.
