Default Which is better for gaming?

#1
Pentium 4 LGA Socket T
nVIDIA 6600 GT PCI Express

#2
AMD 64 3000+ Socket 939
nVIDIA 6600 GT AGP

All of the other parts of the computer are exactly the same on each system other than the CPU and graphics card.

Which is better for gaming, and overall performance? And does PCI Express make a big differnce in gaming?

Actually the P4 CPU is only about 20 bucks more than the AMD, so don't tell me about bang for the buck.

Just tell me which system performs better, #1 or #2.

#2.AMD is better for gaming, Intel most of the time is used.. if you program or just dont do that much gaming. i would go with AMD though.

Wouldn't #1 be better for gaming because it has a PCI Express card.

I thought PCI Express makes a big difference in gaming?

depends what kind of PCI express card you get. if you spend the same amount of money on a graphics card, go with the AMD.

if you want to spend less on a pci-e card, and get the same performance, go with the P4 system. if you want to go with the AMD system you'll have to spend more $$ for a better card.

I am planning on going with a 6600 GT PCI Express card with a P4 LGA775 3 GHz.

Would that be good for gaming, to the point where I could play the best games without any problems?
