Default Best time to buy?

I plan on building my first computer soon. I was wondering if there is a good season or time to buy. Do online stores have huge sales for the day after thanksgiving like retail stores do?

Thats true if you want this years technologoy, but when the new technology is released its not wise to buy them immediatly, because the prices are high and the bugs aren't completly ironed out yet, just look at the Intel chipset launch

I plan on buying the current technology because IMO it is a waste of money to buy top of the line things because the prices when things first come out are just not worth the extra performance.
