Default best pc for burning dvds and editing

I know that there is huge debate as to if AMD or Intel is better. I just want to know if an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ is as good for burning and editing movies as a pentium with HT technology. Any input is appreciated!

Here is a benchmark between the a64 3400 and the P4 550. You will see they both have their stregths and weaknesses. As far as the multimedia test you will see the p4 edges out the AMD.

Either one will perform nicely for just about anything you can throw at it.
