Best laptop for under $750

I need a laptop that will be reliable and not a waste of my money since I saved a while to get one,..

Basically will be used mostly for web browsing and some media such as mp3, music, cdrw, and hopefully with XP Home or Pro sp2 pack would be my OS,...Also, must have USB and Serial port (this possible) as I could use serial port to hook up laptop to my car's diagnostic port to clear Engine cells and other tuning features,..

Im looking for at least a Celeron M or Sempron (Centrino on wish list though) 14" screen and 256megs mem and wireless cable,..

Ive checked specials at IBM and Dell and they got sales for under $700, but if I add to get the 256megs or wireless and shipping to Honolulu, Hawaii, it gets expensive,..

Here in Honolulu, I have Circuit City, CompUSA, Costco, and Sams Club to shop at, and the best deal seems to come from Sams Club (wholesale outlet) as they have an Acer and Averatec laptop with Celeron M for $700 and $79 for 3 yr warrantee,...

Any suggestions as I dont want to buy used as I could lose out due to not knowing reliability,..Hope to get at least 2-3 reliable years out of my laptop,.
