Default Best bang for buck DVD-R?

I recently had my computer put together and im using the shanty old cd drives...and I want to get a new one, hopefully a dvd-r if they are cheap enough.

I know nothing about this stuff, but what would be the best bang for buck cheap dvd-r, or even a fast arse cd-r drive? I was checkin out newegg, but dont know what to look for.

The Pioneer DVR-109. Only one with 6x Dual Layer recording.

BTW, they are very cheap, the most expensive one is under $100.
