After reading many post on the subject I decided to make a few comments. Some posters say or imply that making backup copies of your cd's is illegal. It is legal to make backup copies of cd's that you own for the specific purpose of being a "backup". You cannot sell ,give away, or distribute in any way whatsoever copied cd's. If you read on microsoft cd's you will see, " Do not make illegal copies of this disc" . But you can make legal copies --backups ! For example ,my son had a 4 disc game with no backups. He went through 3 discs to find that the 4th disc was damaged and couldnt finish the game. Because I didnt create backups I had to purchase the game twice. Programs like clonecd and alcohol are not illegal as some would make you think. Just dont use these programs to create illegal copies!!!!
