Default Back-up data for dummies

Hey guys,

I do back-up my stuffl. But I have a desire to be really organised with all my data back-up. I have four external hard drives at the moment, all of them equating up to approximately 1500 GBs. But I wanted to ask you guys, the do's and don'ts of backing up, other information regarding it, which hard drives to use, how many back-ups to keep, etc.

The type of data is mostly mp3s, videos, pictures, other important files. My data is quite important to me, I can't afford to lose it.

So any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think if you're making regular, periodic backups to an external HDD, then you're on the right track already. You could also burn your data to DVDs, they of course don't suffer from hard drive failure :P
