Default ATi Radeon All in Wonder 9800 problems

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Howdy folks,

Last night i decided to upgrade my catalyst drivers to 5.1 because of some minor bug fixes and since then whenever i try playing games or watching tv i hear a wierd noise inside my computer then it stops/crashes with no error message(sometimes it may lock up just before it enters windows)I unnistalled the 5.1 catalyst drivers(i used driver cleaner 3.3)then i installed my old drivers but that did not help at all,the computer still crashes and i still hear that noise.I took the card out and now my computer uses the onboard graphics, that seems to have sold the problem.Any indeas or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My system is

P4 3.0 ghz Ht
1ghz of ram
80 gigs
Asrock p4s61(uses 8x agp)

have you tried updating your AGP drivers for your mobo too?

you may try the system restore back to when it work fine for you.

before trying to swap out hardware and such.

but update ALL drivers, even sound card...
