right now im running amd 1gb on a k7sem mobo with 768ram
and a gf 4 mx440...
how much would buying 9800pro(256bit) improve my gaming performence

thx

what games are you talking about?

If you plan on playing any directx 9 compatible games then the card will do dramatically huge things to your game play. Some of the games slated to be released soon will in fact require a direct x 9 card.

Even most first person shooters, and any game that requires high refreshing of the video will increase performance trementously with a 9800 pro.

3D2k1 benchmarks between these two cards would probably be close to 10k on the same system. Just an educated guess as I've never tried it myself.

If the games you play are 3D then the answer is HELL YES!
If you like 2D games, then the answer is WTF! go get the card and get some new games! ;- P

The RADEON 9800 Pro will make a HUGE difference.
You currently have a GF4 MX...The MX series of cards has horrible performance. (TI series of cards are the better one)

If you up to spending the money for the 9800 Pro, definitely do it, since it's one of the best performing cards on the market. (The XT series is only slightly better than the 9800 Pro, and is not worth the $500)

ive found a card i wanna buy.. but theres something i dont get

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?DEPA=1&submit=Go&description=N82E16814142009

- says its 256bit ... BUT when u click on more details.. then it says ITS ONLY 128bit!!..somebody please help me!maybe im not seeing something.. or i dunno

what do u guys think about this

The DDR Ram is what you want to look for.

That card has 128MB of ram.

newegg is very reliable. I shop there all the time, and I would definitely recommend them.

yea i know.. ive bought there many things...
but its VERY important to me that this gfx card is 256bit(more bit is BETTER!)

im only hoping ill be able to play doom 3 and hl2 when they come out.

thats just 128 bit floating point precision, which is plenty. basically all 9800 pros are the same, so i wouldn't worry about stuff like that, just find the cheapest one from a reliable place.
