ATI Driver Problems

I have been having problems with the ATI drivers as of late. If i go over catalyst ver. 4.6 my monitor will always go into power save mode all by itself. I could be opening web pages then all the sudden my monitor just shuts itself down. And i have to restart the whole computer to get any video back. I have tried everything that people have told me to try for the last 4 months or so. But as of now i am stuck at ver. 4.6. I am just wondering if this sounds fimilar to anyone? Thinking about accually switching back to Nvidia when i get the money to do so.

Hmm, ya know same thing happened to me the other day, I simply pulled my card out, resat it in the AGP slot and it hasn't happened since.

I have never owned an ATI card though so I couldn't give you advice on drivers, but perhaps you should just pull it out, use canned air to blow it clean and try reseating it?
