Hi guys.
I just bought an athlon2400+xp and I'm not too sure about its
real speed.
the pc detect a 2000 mhz proccessor.
Is that right or I did a mess with the fsb setting?
HELP please!!!!

I wouldn't say that 2000mhz is the right speed...i have a 2500+ with 333fsb and its only 1.83ghz...

I think u made a mistake Martin

he didnt make a mistake...athlon rates its processors how it would perform as an intel. like a 2400 series processor, while only clocking in at 2000Mhz actually performs like an intel 2400Mhz processor

Some speed differences aside:

2600+ with 266 MHz FSB: 2.13 GHz
2600+ with 333 MHz FSB: 2.08 GHz

With the release of the Barton core, much of the clock frequencies were lowered, however, the extra cache and such helped the boost of the rated performance.

Furthermore, the Athlon XP 3000+ with the Barton core runs at the exact same frequency as the 2700+ with the Thoroughbred-B core (2.17 GHz), just only faster because of architectural improvements.

I'm running a 2400+ TBred, which at stock runs at 2000.
I've got stable OCing to 2200 although I think I could improve on this with some DDR400 or 433.
