Specs:
Asus Sk8v socket 940, amd athlon 64 fx - 53
RAM = ECC Registered 1gb 400 DDR pinn dimm
Video = Radeon 9800pro 256mg
PSU = 550 watt Altec
Having a freezing problem only the on the first boot startup after assembling everything. Any repeated bootup attempts turn into a blank screen and no error beeps, no error voice messages. Just blank screen and nothing.
After : taking out CPU and RAM - putting them back in.
Same thing occurs = first bootup attempt everything normal. 2-3 minutes in bios or in boot diognostics = FROZEN solid, any repeated boot attempts BLANK screen, no error messages, nothing.
Things Tried: Switching video cards = 4 diff ones, tweaking bios setting everytime after dissassembling, lower wattages PSU 430watt, Clearing CMOS, checking grounding.
All these things NO EFFECT.
PLEASE Help I have been having this problem for over a month, nobody can help.
My only clue right now is RAM, perhaps it does not go well with Athlon 64 fx.
Ram exact Specs = 1GB 128x72 PC3200 ECC REG ICXX201-MER (64x8)
Thanks
