Asus p7p55d-e pro supports 10/100/1000M but it seems that the only speed i got from the onboard NIC is 100 am seeking how to obtain 1gbps out of this onboard NIC. I installed the updated realtek ethernet controller still am on 100Mbps :-s, my broadband max speed is 50mbps.

Do you have Gigabit ethernet enabled in the BIOS?

Well, if you're connecting the NIC to a router that only works at 100mb then your NIC will function at 100mb.
