ASUS Mobo Problem

Here's my story...

I bought a Asus A7V600 with a Athlon XP 2800. I also bought a Maxtor 160GB Ultra ATA133 HD.

I flashed the bios with the most recent from asus, but i cannot get my system to recognize the HD. Yes, I did use the correct cable that came with the Ultra drive.

So i grabbed my W2k Hd from my other computer and stuck it in. It found the drive, but I get a stop error saying...

inaccessible_boot_device

This has happened on two drives (one with XP loaded and the above example with W2K) which makes me think it's not the drives.

I've left most of my bios settings as the factory default since the flash, except for the cpu speed, time and date, is there anything else I should look for?

It could be that you need new drivers for your hard disk controller or you may have an incorrect jumper setting on the drives. Try this link, if you are not a member and don't want to sign up, let me know and I will post the entire solution.

How do i find out what hard disk controller is on my mobo??

I also got a disk with the Mobo and it will boot as the X: drive when i start my system, but in a dos format i don't know what good it will do.
