Default asus a7v mainboard cpu upgrade

I would like to know if it is possible to install a athlon xp 1800+ cpu on a asus a7v mainboard. Now this cpu says it has a 266mhz fsb. While the mainboard supports up to 200mhz.

Just wondering because i have seen some people on ebay selling this mainboard with these cpu's installed in them. And they say that it works fine?

Hoping that somebody here has experience with this mainboard and the xp cpu's and can shine a little light on this.

Is that mother board the same socket as your Athlon 1800? I believe that the 1800 is a socket a. Most of the asus athlon mortherboards are socket a. If it will support that processor. I guess I would check out the asus site and see if they have info on your make and model.
