I'm getting a free printer from Dell but the service people on the phone say that you have to keep buying their ink to make it work and that none others will work in it. Does anyone know if this is 100% true or know if those needle ink injectors will work on it at all?

Thanks

Ewww...Dell...

After the whole proprietary-PSU-and-mobo thing, it wouldn't surprise me if they SABATOGED their ink cartridges so that they could not be refilled.

Just wishful thinking, of course.

Seriously, since Dell just uses rebranded printers from Lexmark, it shouldn't be a problem.

SABATOGED doesn't really seem to fit here? LOL

MONOPOLIZE sounds right...

They could allways make the part in the printer that holds the ink to where it has a small notch or something so the cartridge would have to have it to.
